A bit about me
I love working outdoors and transforming outdoor spaces into havens. I have a passion for working with plants and enjoy collaborating with people who share my enthusiasm for enhancing their outdoor environments.
As an experienced garden and landscape designer with over 20 years of experience, I have worked on projects ranging from tiny domestic gardens to large commercial landscapes and lifestyle blocks.
Initially trained in visual communication and having worked in the arts, I discovered my affinity for designing gardens and outdoor spaces. I enjoy the challenge of balancing plants and structure to create engaging living environments.
Building relationships and maintaining open dialogue with my clients is crucial for achieving the best possible outcome. Great garden design is collaborative. Listening to and meeting the needs of the brief is fundamental, but my goal is also to push boundaries and surprise my clients.
A garden is always a work in progress, and as an observer, one never stops learning from the surrounding environment. Careful site analysis is essential. Understanding the balance between big ideas and the practicalities of a small site is a key ingredient in successful design. Big visions may not always be feasible, and an overabundance of detail can clutter a small space. Achieving the right balance is paramount.
It is my personal philosophy that a garden should have as little impact on the environment as possible. I believe in using sustainable materials over non-sustainable ones whenever there is a choice.
